The excursion tip for the autumn holidays!

from 01. October 2022 9:00 o'clock until the 16. October 2022 18:00 o'clock

Autumn holidays will soon be here again and in the last warm days of the year, the Gangelt wildlife park will attract visitors with its many European wild animals. Also this year children up to 15 years of Saturday, 01.10. until Sunday 16.10. free entry to the wildlife park. For our little visitors we have again prepared a nice children's program. On Wednesday, October 5th and 12th. and Sunday, October 9th. there will be the "Witch Days in the Wildpark" again. Magic witch "Arabella" is back with her broom flying school, children's face painting and fairy tales with puppet shows and is of course particularly happy about young and old visitors who visit the park in witch costumes on Sunday, October 2nd. and 16.10. "Jean Pierre Duflic - the fastest policeman in France" is visiting the wildlife park.

But the main actors are of course the European wild animals, which trace their tracks through the colorful autumn forest in their natural enclosures. The rutting season for the red deer is in full swing, and the call of the deer resounds loudly through the Rodebach valley. Now during the holidays, our visitors can experience a guided tour with feeding and learn a lot of interesting and worth knowing things about our wild animals. The meeting point is after the flight demonstration at 3:45 p.m. at the entrance to the falconry. The guided tour takes place on the working days of the 1st week of vacation and on October 10th and 14th. During the tour of the game park, visitors experience a representative selection of European wild animals, there are predators such as brown bears, lynx or wolves, there are deer, roe deer, wild boar, elk, bison, there are representatives of the Alpine region such as ibex, chamois and marmots or even otters, pine martens and raccoons. The lynxes had offspring again this summer and so, with a little patience, visitors can watch the little lynxes in the autumn sun. Our bison herd has also grown again, two calves were born. Two elk calves from the Neumünster animal park came to us in Gangelt for further rearing and our marmots are happy about the addition of four marmots from the Potzberg wildlife park. "Coco" the new fish eagle has settled in well in falconry. It is always fascinating when eagles, buzzards, falcons, kites and owls return to the fist of falconer Erwin Janssen.

Our apiary is always worth a visit. During guided tours on the weekends, and also during the week on request, beekeepers provide exciting insights into the microcosm of the bee. The apiary is open until the end of the autumn holidays. After so many experiences, the adventure playground and the children's zoo are a popular change for the little ones. We are pleased that the restaurant in the middle of the wildlife park is open again. The newly designed sun terrace invites you to linger, with a great view of the wild animals, the new playground equipment and the children's zoo.

As every year, the children can collect acorns for the wild animals in the wildlife park and use them to improve their pocket money. The children get 30 cents per kilo of acorns and the diligent collection is rewarded with a free ticket for the wildlife park.
